My life has been full of learning and travel, friends and family. I have spent time intentionally putting my Self into settings where I can expand my body, mind and heart. As a result, I have an eclectic background of education, experience and training including undergraduate degrees in both Recreation and Education, and a Master’s degree in Counselling. I am also a Certified Hakomi Therapist. I have traveled and explored many parts of the country, the world abroad and my own backyard; I have done this physically and within my Self! My life experiences have helped me cultivate perspective, creativity and curiosity and I bring this to the work I do with my clients.
I have a depth of experience in my work- I value safety, connection, curiosity and humour in helping people achieve the changes they are looking for. I believe that people can heal and change, and that there is an internal strength in everyone… sometimes it just gets a little lost! One of the great joys in my life is helping people rediscover and reconnect with this strength; to help understand and address limiting beliefs and habits, and to create new possibilities.
The spirit of discovery, reconnection, and freedom are what excite me about the world! Whether this happens in therapy or climbing around in the mountains, these qualities inspire me each and every day.
On a personal note, I love being outside and I love good food. I am a wanna-be part- time yogi and meditator… I continue to be inspired by my by own limiting beliefs and habits in these practices! My husband is part of my mountain and we love to explore.
About My Service
I work to build safe and caring relationships with all of my clients. I love to get to know them- what they love, where they are “stuck” and what they hope for. This relationship is of the utmost importance to me. I work in a shared and collaborative way with my clients and bring curiosity and humour to the therapeutic journey. I am creative in the techniques I use, but draw primarily from the Hakomi Method, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, mindful and somatic psychologies and also have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Techniques (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also trained as a Facilitator in the Right Use of Power and provide workshops and other therapeutic services using this Ethics model.
As a therapist, I work primarily with adults- young, old and everything in between! To learn more specifically about the Hakomi Method, The Right Use of Power and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, please click on the links below.

Why Mountain Inside?
I believe we all have a still, strong place inside, full of wisdom and knowing. And like a mountain, there is an enduring, solid and graceful quality within all of us. We may have lost touch with it, but it is there! I also believe that like a mountain, there can be qualities of apprehension, unknowingness and even fear, when embarking upon the road to changing one’s Self. At the same time, there is also wonder, mystery and appreciation. In therapy, we will together find ways to reconnect with the Mountain Inside, and work towards a life of freedom, contentment and choice.
